While the cherry blossom trees were in full bloom I returned to Tokyo and the Kansai area where I met some familiar faces. Also I visited the southern island of Okinawa for the first time.

In 2017 I spent half a year in Northern California as an exchange student. Many things were different at first but I enjoyed my time very much. How was it? And what did I do in my spare time?
After touring through Kyushu I will head back to Tokyo for the last few days. I will not take the direct Shinkansen route from Kyoto back to Tokyo via Nagoya, but will make a detour to the Chubu region.
After touring through Hokkaido and Kansai I will move on to Japans third-largest island Kyushu in the south of the main island Honshu. Apart from visiting urban Fukuoka and Nagasaki I will relax in a hot spring resort and explore two volcanos! In six days I will make a round trip across and around the island and will stop by in various places.
The last article, Chapter 1, was about my first four days in Hokkaido. After taking a flight from Sapporo I will arrive in the Kansai region. What are my plans for the next four days?
The flights are booked, the Japan Rail Pass is ordered and some of the accommodations are booked. My trip will begin on Sunday, 24th August and I will return on 14th September, a Sunday again. In these three weeks I will travel, see, meet and eat a lot. Let me go in much more detail now. But first, this is the route I will take. Spontaneous changes included.
Recently I read about the opening of an exhibition about Makoto Shinkai, my favourite Japanese director. Since I am a great fan of his profound and scenic animation films I want to visit the exhibit in Mishima on my way back from Kyushu to Tokyo.

Ende August reise ich zum zweiten Mal nach Japan. Bevor die eigentliche Reise beginnt, schreibe ich über einige meiner Vorhaben. Diesen Sommer ist es wieder soweit: Hatsune Miku lädt wieder zu einem Konzert ein, eins der ganz besonderen Art.
Auch bevor ich diese Seite gestartet habe, war ich bereits oft auf Reisen. Letztens kam mir die Idee, wieso das ganze nicht grafisch darstellen? Wo war ich schon, wo noch nicht? So kann ich den Überblick über künftige Reiseziele behalten und neue Ziele aussuchen.
Endlich konnte ich alle zeitlichen und finanziellen Blockaden aus dem Weg schaffen, so dass ich diesen Sommer erneut nach Japan fliegen kann. Auch diesmal habe ich wieder viel vor.
Anfang der Woche hatte ich die Gelegenheit, mir das höchste Gebäude der Schweiz, den Prime Tower, im Rahmen einer Führung genauer anzusehen.
