To-ji temple lies south of Kyoto station and is not only a well preserved temple from the 8th century, it also harbors the highest wooden pagoda of Japan.

Normally only open during daytime, they sometimes offer a visit in the night when the light up the temple grounds.

Enjoy this photo journal of my visit on April 17, 2022. The pictures don’t do justice to the actual scene.
